History

In 2004, founder of theBalm, Marissa Shipman, recognized how few products there were to help her feel glamorous all the time and wanted to help other women who felt the same way. She then began her research reading the 11 books she bought through Amazon on how to concoct makeup formulations and immediately started mixing in her kitchen. "I went makeup crazy. I incorporated the company, worked out a budget, hired a chemist and designed a website." With triple-milled pigments, anti-aging ingredients, and delightful scents...theBalm was born into the company it is today, offering paraben and cruelty-free products around the world.
